May 4 Open House at Moulton Farm - A fun event for food lovers and gardeners

Moulton Farm's open house on Saturday, May 4, is an event food lovers and gardeners will want to attend. The event starts at 10 am and runs until 2 pm.

At 10 am, the farm's food truck, Moulton's Hay Wagon, will celebrate opening for the season, and visitors will have the opportunity to sample items from this year’s seasonally inspired menu.

In addition to visitors being able to sample food from the farm's food truck and farm kitchen and bakery, several of the small businesses that have their food in the farm’s market will also be at the farm during the open house.

A hands-on container gardening workshop in which each attendee will create a container garden or planter to take home. Expert advice from the farm's garden center team about choosing plants, arranging, and caring for the plants is part of the workshop. It starts at 10:30 and costs $30.  Pre-registration is required.

At 1 pm, there will be a free guided walking tour of the farm, allowing visitors to see how the farm grows plants for their garden center and food for the farm's market. It's also an opportunity to see some of the changes the farm has made to adapt to New Hampshire's challenging weather conditions.

A Coast of Maine Organic Soils representative will be at the farm from 11 am to 2 pm. Gardeners can get answers about the company's products and which of the company's soils and organic soil amendments can help different plants and growing conditions.

Moulton Farm, located at 18 Quarry Road off Route 25 in Meredith, practices sustainable agriculture and provides the highest quality fruits and vegetables while preserving its rich soil for future generations. In addition to growing its own produce, the farm offers vegetable plants, herbs, annuals, perennials, fruit trees, and garden supplies, including soils and amendments. Also available at the farm are baked goods and prepared foods from the farm's kitchen and bakery, seafood from Sal's Fresh Seafood, cider doughnuts from Cider Bellies, and a quality selection of meats, cheeses, and other items from northern New England producers.  More information is available at MoultonFarm.com
