Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance Names New Leadership

Dear Friends of the Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance,

I'm writing with news that's both heartfelt and hopeful.

After 15 years of extraordinary service, our President, Patricia 'Pat' Tarpey, is retiring.  Pat was LWA's first employee and the spark behind our growth into a strong, effective, and community-driven organization.  Thanks to her leadership, we've secured record public and private support, built science-based programs that are making a measurable difference, and rallied a broad coalition around clean, healthy water for Lake Winnipesaukee.

Please join me in thanking Pat for her vision, determination, and love for this lake.

At the same time, I'm thrilled to share that after a nationwide search, the Board has selected Eric J. Siy as Executive Director, effective this month. Eric brings a national reputation in freshwater protection, having led the Lake George Association (and previously The FUND for Lake George), where he helped merge the two into a stronger, more impactful organization widely seen as a national leader in lake protection.

Eric J. Siy, Executive Director, LWA

What this means for all of us:  we're building on Pat's foundation with Eric's proven, results-oriented approach - so we can move faster on the work that matters most: safeguarding water quality, strengthening local resilience, and protecting the economic and property values that depend on a clean, thriving lake.

How you can help right now:

  • Send a note of thanks to Pat for her years of service.
  • Welcome Eric (esiy@winnipesaukee.org) and share the issues you care most about on the lake.
  • Continue to support our work
  • Stay engaged:  volunteer, spread the word, help protect the lake.

Thank you for everything you do for Lake Winnipesaukee.  I'm grateful for your support and excited for what's ahead.

With appreciation,

Mark Ishkanian
Chair, Board of Directors
